Wildlife

Given its proximity to the main village street, the 2.5 Ha site of the Ewelme Cress Beds are a remarkable haven for wildlife, and are designated as a Local Nature Reserve.  The site Warden, Tom Stevenson, has complied an amazing list of plant, mammal, bird and invertebrate species seen on the site.  Full details of these can be found on Tom’s website at  https://www.ewelmewatercressbeds.org

This is just one of the ways in which the cressbeds represent such a superb facility for the village of Ewelme.

In our gallery we present a few pictures of wildlife seen on the site.
